"When words become useless, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence." Ansel Adams
A Bucks County resident for over 30 years and a self-taught photographer, I was influenced by my Father’s photography and my Mother’s oil and watercolor paintings. Growing up ten minutes from the Jersey Shore, oceans and beaches are two of my favorite subjects. Other favorites are abandoned buildings, flowers, landscapes, peeling paint and what I refer to as, “slice of life” photos where I focus my camera on a specific aspect of a scene like a perfectly shaped scallop shell resting gently on the sand.
My imaging approach is very fundamental. I believe the viewfinder, focus and light are the best creative editing tools a photographer has. Digital manipulation should be avoided or kept to a minimum. I want the viewer to see exactly what I saw.
My travels have taken me to the Canadian Rockies, Prince Edward Island, Cape Breton, Vienna, Prague, England, Arizona, Maine, Vermont and the back roads of Eastern Pennsylvania.
